UPMC Supply Chain Wins Industry Award


UPMC was recently honored at the IDN Summit for their success with their deployment of Vinimaya's SmartSearch technology. UPMC received the Summit of Excellence Award for the innovative steps they took towards leveraging purchasing to achieve their goal of reducing healthcare cost. Forty percent of their nearly 350,000 purchasing transactions are now conducted entirely electronically, and by going to the electronic ordering system they saved their system approximately four million dollars, based upon an average of $30 per transaction.
